Speaker Bio:
Rao Thallam is a Senior Principal Engineer, Electric System Planning and Engineering Department, Salt River Project. He conducts studies on harmonics, surge protection, insulation coordination and power quality, and is also responsible for specification of high voltage apparatus including series and shunt reactive compensation systems. Prior to joining SRP in 1985, Dr. Thallam worked for General Electric Company for ten years. He has published more than 50 papers, is the author of chapters in two books, and was awarded a US patent. Dr. Thallam is a Fellow of the IEEE. He is also the Conferences Chairman for the IEEE Phoenix Section.
