Topic: "Power Factor Correction (PFC) Design & Application"
Most utilities have some sort of power factor (PF) rate adjustment to encourage customers to maintain a reasonably high PF. Bill will be discussing how SRP's Power Quality group helps customers solve their power factor problems through the optimal installation of Power Factor Correction (PFC). His talk will cover the step-by-step process of building a case for investing in power factor correction, including lessons learned.
Speaker Bio:
Bill Russell is a Senior Engineer with expertise in beyond-the-meter power quality
investigations focusing on customer satisfaction to secure the commitment to quality.
Mr. Russell has previously taught several power quality seminars including "Harmonics,
Odd and Even", "Grounding and Bonding for Safety and Performance" and "Power Quality for
Electrical Contractors". Prior to joining the SRP team, Mr. Russell was employed as a
power quality specialist in the Phoenix area. Mr. Russell holds a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Electrical Engineering and is an active member in the Arizona Power Quality
Association as well as the IEEE.
