Speaker Bio:
Ed Weiss came to Power Quality Engineering (PQE) in 1993 after ten years with Computervision, formerly Prime Computer, where he was that company’s leading power quality and environment (PQ&E) consultant, worldwide. Extensively trained in the troubleshooting and servicing of sophisticated computer systems, Mr. Weiss is also a veteran teacher of power quality. At Computervision, he was responsible for the education and professional development of more than one hundred PQ&E specialists in eighteen countries. A published author and popular speaker in his field, Mr. Weiss has written technical procedures and standards for power quality, and has evaluated products of all description for potential implementation by high-technology users. His background includes major site analysis, solutions design and implementation. Mr. Weiss holds a 1991 patent for an electrical testing device, and is the Co-holder of PQE’s 1996 Intelligent Custom Tuned Power Filter patent.
Ed received a BSEE degree from Queens College in 1972 and is affiliated with the following professional organizations: IEEE, IAEI, and the APQA (past President and co-founder).
