Spot Networks and APS

Date: Thursday, March 28th, 2013

Location: SRP Information Services Building (ISB), 1600 N Priest Dr, Tempe, AZ 85281

Speaker: Bill West, APS

Topic: "Spot Networks and APS"

Bill West will describe the key differences between grid and spot networks. Most utilities connect transformers to a grid, which delivers power to a specific location. APS formerly employed small grids to serve its customers, but has earned a national reputation for reliability based largely on its use of spot networks. A significant amount of the credit goes to our speaker.

Speaker Bio:
Bill West holds bachelors and masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he is a highly regarded engineer and an APS employee for more than 33 years. His primary responsibility has been the design of the APS network system.
