In this ever-changing world of Electrical Power metering we see, now more than ever, key elements that influence the accuracy and billing of revenue metering. With the deployment of AMI and Smart Grid Technology, it’s even more vital to test the metering and CT components that can and do affect our billing infrastructure. This presentation will discuss and highlight, using case study and technical examples, the critical measurements and testing requirements of modern electrical power delivery and the effect of PQ on Revenue Metering.

Speaker Bio:
John H Carroll, BSEE. M.InstEEE, is a Regional Manager for Powermetrix. He has been in the Power Industry for over 26 years working with the world’s leading test and measurements companies. He began his career as a Senior Avionics Engineer in 1973 spanning 12 years at British Aerospace in England.

He successfully obtained a Higher National Diploma Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at The John Moore’s University in Liverpool, England in 1979.

John has worked with a number of leading edge USA power companies such as Fluke Corporation, Dranetz Inc and Power Monitors Inc. He is currently a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and lives in Arizona.
