Puerto Rico's Utility Disaster Relief

Topic: "Puerto Rico's Utility Disaster Relief"

This presentation is going to be on SRP's experiences in Puerto Rico restoring the utility on the island after the disastrous hurricane. Rick Hudson went with a team of SRP personnel and has recently returned to share his story with us.

Speaker Bio:
Rick grew up in Tempe and attended McClintock High School. He graduated from ASU in May, 1987 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Ricku2019s 30-year career at SRP has been almost exclusively in the engineering and design of the distribution system at SRP. He became a registered professional engineer in electrical engineering in 1993.

Rick:
Supervised the inspection of distribution assets and preventive repair from these inspections for two and a half years.

Managed the System Records Maintenance department (primarily mapping activity) for two years.

Served as a principal engineer in Maintenance Engineering for 12 years

Became a project manager for the underground distribution cable assets at SRP.

Currently an engineering supervisor in Distribution Improvements until this past May where he returned to engineering supervisor over the inspection, repair and replacement of all distribution assets.

Rick is previously served as President of the ASU Fulton Schools of Engineering alumni chapter, currently he still serves as VP of Communications. Enjoys coaching his kids sports teams and tutoring youth in Science and Math.
