Topic: "Understanding and Using the 2009 UL White Book and Certification Directory"

This presentation will focus on the use, features and purpose of the UL White Book. The presentation will give particular attention on how to navigate and locate resources in the White Book; how to identify the UL Certification Marks and applicable product category; how the White Book can help to determine compliance with the NEC; demonstrate real-life, steps-by-step examples of application of the White Book in the field; and, “What do those UL tags mean?” White Books and CD’s will be available for the attendees.

Speaker Bio:
Lanny McMahill is a Field Evaluation Engineer for Underwriters Laboratories Inc. Prior to this, Lanny was the electrical inspections supervisor for the City of Phoenix. Lanny is an IAEI international seminar instructor and past IAEI international president. He is an IBEW member and former NJATC electrical code and theory class instructor. Lanny has participated in the IEC/USNC technical management committee, UL electrical council, NFPA electrical section, and ICC/TRB. Lanny was the IAEI representative and principal member of NFPA 70 CMP-1 and 18.
