This presentation will cover what Power Factor is, how to correct using both fixed and switched capacitor banks, why harmonics are an issue on a system with VFDs, and how to mitigate harmonics via filters.
Speaker Bio:
David Yeh is a Specification Engineer for GE Energy-Industrial Solutions. In this role he assists electrical engineers in the states Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico in the application of GE low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment to the design of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. David Yeh is an graduate from University of Houston with a BSEE degree. He has over 30 years of experience in the electrical industries in a variety of roles, including electrical design, product marketing and sales.
