Harmonic Resonance in Solar Installations

Date: Thursday, May 28th, 2015

Location: SRP Information Services Building (ISB), 1600 N Priest Dr, Tempe, AZ 85281

Speaker: Michael Hendrickson, Eaton Electrical Inc.

Topic: "Harmonic Resonance in Solar Installations"

The presentation will focus on the growing renewable energy industry and the challenges that can be associated with this emerging technology. Utility scale solar fields have certain VAR requirements imposed which typically means having capacitors as part of the distribution equipment. The capacitors can interact with the Solar inverters in an undesirable way. The presentation will revolve around two case studies that have addressed these types of issues.
