Topic: "Harmonics in Low Voltage Power Systems"

Presentation provides an overview of harmonic distortion in low voltage electric power systems, including the definition of distortion, properties of harmonic distortion, sources of distortion, propagation of harmonics, and basic solutions to harmonics problems. A couple of case studies are presented to highlight the basic principles.

Speaker Bio:
Tom is the Senior Account Representative for Vertiv (formerly Emerson Network Power) Liebert Products and Services. Since joining Liebert Corporation in 1981, Tom has been involved with applying power conditioning and UPS products to computer-based systems and has held various positions in applications engineering and product management. Prior to Liebert, Tom was an Electrical Design Engineer for seven years with Dresser Industries. He holds a B.S. degree from Franklin University and an MBA degree from the University of Dayton. He is a senior member of IEEE and past chairman of the IEEE Std. 1100 (Emerald Book) working group on power and grounding sensitive electronic equipment.

Tom is one of Liebert's subject matter experts on the topics of power and grounding. He has authored many papers over the past three decades that have been published in various conference proceedings, technical journals and magazines, including winning two IEEE Prize Paper Awards.
