Topic: "Consideration and Application of Automatic Transfer Switches on SRP's Distribution System"

Automatic Transfer Switches can improve the reliability of the electricity supply to a given facility. They can also increase that facility's exposure to Power Quality events in some configurations. Join Ted Stanton, of SRP's Distribution Planning Department, as he gives a brief overview of these devices and their application from the perspective of the utility planning engineer.

Speaker Bio:
Ted Stanton is a Principal Engineer in SRP's Distribution Planning department, where his activities include distribution system reliability analysis, transmission and distribution system expansion planning, and working with utility customers to maximize the reliability of their electricity supply.

Ted received his BSEE degree from the University of Houston, supplementing that with postgraduate work at Arizona State University. Ted is a member of the IEEE and a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Arizona. Ted has a wide base of experience, including analog and digital circuit design for side-looking airborne radar, power plant design, transmission planning, distribution planning and reliability analysis. Ted is also an avid marksman and accomplished amateur ballistician.
