Speaker Bio:
John started in the EPG business in 1988 working at the Onan generator corporation factory in Minneapolis as a certification tester, load testing generators before delivery to the customer. At the same time he attended Hennepin Technical College in their diesel mechanics program. After completion of the program John moved into the factory repair department troubleshooting & repairing generators, transfer switches & paralleling switchgear. He then left the factory and worked for the Upper Midwest Onan distributor for four years as a field service technician, and then moved to Phoenix in 1993 and became a field service technician for Cummins Southwest. In 1995 John became the service manager for power generation. In early 2000, he transferred to Empire as a project manager and, shortly thereafter, an account manager. In November of 2009, he moved to his current position of District Sales Manager for the ASCO Power Technologies division of Emerson Network Power. Since moving to Phoenix John has attended Glendale Community College for business management and during his career has attended factory schools for RV generator repair, marine generator repair, industrial generator repair, transfer switch repair, paralleling switchgear repair, various engine model repair and fuel cell introduction.
